Visit Mexico 2023: Part 1
Mexico is one of the main tourist destinations in the world. Among its beautiful beaches, delicious food, culture, and traditions, Mexico can be a good option for a vacation or to escape for awhile.
If you haven’t been to Mexico, or if you have already visited, we want to recommend some places you can visit, so you can enjoy the many things the country can offer you.
1.CREEL, CHIHUAHUA
This small town is located in the Chihuahua mountains and has increased in popularity in recent years, since during the winter the snowy landscapes are spectacular, when combined with the majesty of the copper canyons. A person can get there via the Chepe train, which is a tourist train that leaves from the capital of Chihuahua to Culiacán in the state of Sinaloa. Something to try is Machaca, which is very typical of the area. It is a dried meat that is prepared in different dishes. A person can also visit different settlements of people in the Tarahumara culture who sell beautiful handicrafts and who also have a colorful way of dressing. The walks and places with stone formations are also attractions in the area.
2.TAXCO, GUERRERO
This is another magical town in Mexico. Among the mountains of the Sierra of Guerrero, in the south of the country, this town is famous for its silver production. In addition to being picturesque, having very sloping streets, and having Volkswagen beetles as taxis, it is ideal for buying jewelry and silver items directly from artisans.
3.TEQUILA, JALISCO
One of the most famous places, and not only for the drink, Tequila offers unparalleled landscapes such as sunsets in the blue agave fields. This place also offers tours of the local tequila distilleries in the area and those that are world-renowned. There are great local food offerings, regional music shows with mariachi bands, and lots of parties. Throughout the streets, you can find “cantaritos” for sale which are very typical of the state of Jalisco. They are prepared with ice, grapefruit soda, tequila, and a touch of salt or spice. This is a place that is undoubtedly a postcard image of Mexican culture.
4.BALANDRA, BAJA CALIFORNIA SOUTH
This place has one of the beaches that still retains a virgin and unexplored touch, with clear water and nothing but the sea touching the sky. Located on the outskirts of the capital city of the state of Baja California Sur, La Paz, is where you will find this paradisiacal place. This beach without waves can be crossed by walking through the water from side to side. With fish in sight and a somewhat desert-like, rocky and cactus landscape, this jewel could be a very good option for losing yourself and getting away from the noise and hustle and bustle of daily life.
5.MAZUNTE, OAXACA
For a more alternative touch and perfect for those who love waves or surfing, Mazunte, another jewel of the Mexican Pacific, would be an excellent option to visit. Small but cozy, you can stay in one of its beach bungalows or in one of its houses on the mountain with ocean views. Fish abounds in the area, so you can have it fresh with tropical and regional fruit drinks. Its sunsets are incredible and are worth seeing from Punta Cometa, a place that is reached on foot through the mountains next to the sea. This is the furthest point from Mexican territory in the Pacific Ocean. Also, Mazunte has a turtle sanctuary that you can visit. Throughout the year, they host turtle release events that will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience.
